Look, we’ve all been there. You walk out of MedSpring Urgent Care feeling better physically, but then that bill arrives and suddenly your wallet starts feeling sick. I’ve been through this process multiple times myself, and I want to share everything I know about the MedSpring bill pay system to make your life easier.
What Happened to MedSpring Bill Pay?
First things first, if you’re looking specifically for MedSpring bill pay options, you should know that MedSpring Urgent Care has been acquired by GoHealth Urgent Care. This means their billing systems have changed, and you’ll now need to use GoHealth’s payment methods instead of any previous MedSpring-specific systems.
Your GoHealth Urgent Care Bill Pay Options
GoHealth (formerly MedSpring in many locations) offers several ways to handle your medical bills:
Online Bill Pay
The quickest and easiest method is to use their online bill pay system. You can access this through:
- The GoHealth website at gohealthuc.com/bill-pay
- The patient portal
- Their mobile app (available for both Apple and Android)
Convenient Pay
This is one of my favorite features they offer. With Convenient Pay, you can store your credit card information at the time of service. Then:
- Your card gets automatically charged once your insurance processes the claim
- You’ll receive an email notification before any charges
- Your insurance company will send an explanation of benefits showing how your claim was processed
I personally use this option because it saves me from having to remember to pay the bill later!
By Phone
If you prefer talking to a human (which I sometimes do) you can contact their billing team directly at 678-774-7100. This is especially helpful if you have questions about your bill.
How to Pay Your Bill Online
The online process is pretty straightforward
- Go to gohealthuc.com/bill-pay
- Select your location from the dropdown menu
- Fill in your information including your date of service
- Enter your payment details
- Submit and keep the confirmation for your records
If you’re using the MyMedPayment system at mymedpayment.com/acc, the steps are slightly different:
- You’ll need your Statement ID number for a one-time payment
- Alternatively, you can create an account for more options
- You can even set up automatic monthly payments if you’re on a payment plan
What If I Can’t Pay My Bill?
Healthcare costs can be overwhelming sometimes. If you’re struggling to pay your bill, GoHealth offers assistance options:
- Payment Plans: Contact their billing team to discuss monthly payment arrangements
- Financial Assistance: Ask about programs for those with financial hardship
- Insurance Questions: They can help clarify what your insurance covers
Don’t just ignore the bill – that’s what I did once and it was a mistake! It’s always better to contact them and explain your situation.
Bill Pay by Location
One thing that confused me initially is that GoHealth has different billing systems depending on which location you visited. On their bill pay page, you’ll need to select from locations across multiple states:
- Arkansas
- California
- Connecticut
- Delaware
- Indiana
- Maryland
- Michigan
- Missouri (Joplin, Springfield, St. Louis)
- New York
- North Carolina
- Oregon
- Oklahoma
- Pennsylvania
- Texas
- Virginia
- Washington
- West Virginia
Each location is associated with a specific healthcare partner, such as:
- Mercy
- UCSF Health
- Hartford HealthCare
- ChristianaCare
- Northwell Health
- Legacy
- And others
Make sure you choose the correct location where you received care!
Common Billing Questions and Issues
“I never received a bill!”
This happens more often than you’d think. If you haven’t received a bill but expected one:
- Check your spam/junk email folder
- Contact the billing department at 678-774-7100
- Verify they have your correct mailing address
“My insurance should have covered this!”
If you believe your insurance should have covered more:
- Review your explanation of benefits from your insurance company
- Contact your insurance provider to clarify your coverage
- Reach out to GoHealth’s billing team with questions
“I’m seeing charges I don’t understand.”
Urgent care billing can be confusing with separate charges for:
- The visit itself
- Any lab tests performed
- X-rays or other diagnostic procedures
- Medications administered during your visit
If anything looks off, don’t hesitate to call and ask!
MedExpress Alternative
If you were a MedExpress patient rather than MedSpring, their billing system is slightly different. You can access their billing information at medexpressurgentcare.com/billing-information.
My Personal Experience with GoHealth/MedSpring Billing
Last winter, I had to visit GoHealth (former MedSpring) for what turned out to be strep throat. The visit itself was quick and efficient, but when I got my bill, I was confused about some of the charges.
I called the billing department and spoke with a representative who patiently walked me through each item. Turns out there was a charge for the strep test that I didn’t initially realize would be billed separately. The representative was super helpful and even offered to set up a payment plan, though I ended up just paying it in full.
What I learned is that it really helps to ask questions about potential costs during your visit. Now I always ask “Will there be any additional charges for this test?” before agreeing to anything.
Tips for Easier Bill Management
Here are some tips I’ve picked up that might help you:
- Keep your visit paperwork: They usually give you a summary of services that’s helpful for billing questions later.
- Take a photo of your insurance card: Having this handy makes calls to billing much faster.
- Ask about costs upfront: Many urgent cares can give you an estimate before treatment.
- Check your insurance portal: Sometimes claims appear there before you even get a bill.
- Set calendar reminders: If you’re on a payment plan, set reminders so you don’t miss payments.
Creating an Account on MyMedPayment
If you’re planning to use the MyMedPayment system at mymedpayment.com/acc, creating an account offers several advantages:
- View your balance and payment history
- Set up automatic monthly payments
- Request callback assistance
- Save payment methods for future use
To create an account:
- Go to mymedpayment.com/acc
- Click “Create an Account”
- Follow the prompts to enter your information
- Keep your login information somewhere safe
Customer Service Information
If you need to speak with someone about your bill, the customer service information for MyMedPayment is:
- Phone: 1.866.877.1604
- Hours: Monday to Thursday 8AM – 6PM EST, Friday 8AM – 5PM EST
For GoHealth billing questions, use their contact form on the bill pay page or call 678-774-7100.
Privacy Concerns
When dealing with medical bills online, privacy is always a concern. GoHealth mentions on their website that using email for communication isn’t fully secure. If you’re concerned about privacy, they recommend calling instead.
For online payments, both GoHealth and MyMedPayment use secure, encrypted systems to protect your information. Still, it’s always good practice to:
- Use a secure network (not public WiFi) when making payments
- Check for “https” in the URL before entering payment information
- Log out completely when finished
Final Thoughts
Managing medical bills is nobody’s idea of fun, but understanding the system makes it much less stressful. The transition from MedSpring to GoHealth might have caused some confusion, but their payment systems are actually quite user-friendly once you know how to navigate them.
Remember, the most important thing is to address your bills promptly – whether that means paying them, setting up a payment plan, or discussing financial assistance options. Ignoring medical bills can lead to collections and impact your credit score.
Have you ever had to deal with unexpected medical bills? What strategies helped you manage them?

Understanding Your Insurance Plan
The majority of insurance plans require that you make a co-payment at the time you received medical services. Typically, besides your co-payment, you may be responsible for any unpaid amount not satisfied by your insurance plan.
If you have questions about your insurance plan, please contact your insurance provider. The phone number will be located on the back of your insurance card.
Direct Billing to Insurance Providers
On your behalf and for your convenience, MedExpress will verify your coverage either before or during your visit and bill your insurance company directly for the services we provide. Once we’ve heard back from your insurance provider, we’ll send you a statement that details the remaining balance.
You’ll also receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurance company that lists the services provided by MedExpress, the amount billed, any insurance payments made, and your responsibility.
Please make sure to bring your health insurance card to your visit, along with any secondary insurance information, if applicable. If you are not the subscriber of the insurance covering your services, we will need the date of birth and social security number of the policy holder.
If your information has changed since your last visit, please let our team members know so that we can update our records.
The care and convenience of MedExpress doesn’t stop when you walk out our doors. It can continue at home through the option to pay your bill through our online bill pay portal.
The online bill pay portal allows you to communicate with MedExpress securely and confidentially.
With our online bill pay portal, you’ll be able to:
- View your billing statement and balance.
- Make secure credit card payments.
- Send messages and billing inquiries.
