Are you tired of scrambling to pay your water bill at the last minute? I know I was! After moving to Connecticut last year figuring out the best way to pay my Aquarion Water bill became a monthly headache until I explored all the options. Today I’m sharing everything you need to know about paying your Aquarion Water Company bill – from online payments to in-person options and everything in between.
Understanding Your Aquarion Water Bill
Before we dive into payment methods, let’s take a quick look at what’s actually on your bill. Aquarion Water Company bills customers monthly in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. If you have a metered account (most of us do!), your bill reflects:
- Water usage from the previous period
- A basic service charge
- Possibly other items applied on a per-day or usage basis
Your bill will have your unique 9-digit account number – keep this handy as you’ll need it for most payment methods!
Online Bill Payment Options for Aquarion Water
1. Aquarion Customer Portal
This is my personal favorite option because it gives you the most control and features
- Receive and pay bills online through your bank account
- Track your usage and payment history
- Schedule automatic payments (Auto-Pay)
- Set up reminder notifications
- Paperless billing option
To enroll, you’ll need the zip code where your bill is mailed. This is a great eco-friendly option that saves paper, stamps, and other resources.
2. Aquarion Mobile App
For those of us always on our phones, the mobile app is super convenient:
- Available for both Apple iOS and Android devices
- Simplified account management
- Another paperless option to save resources
3. One-Time Online Payments via KUBRA EZ-PAY
If you don’t want to create an account, Aquarion partners with KUBRA EZ-PAY for one-time payments:
- No enrollment required
- Need your Aquarion account number and billing zip code
- Pay with checking account or credit card
- Payments post within 2 business days
Important fee info: Customers in Massachusetts and non-residential customers in Connecticut and New Hampshire will be charged a $1.95 service fee by KUBRA for processing one-time payments. Aquarion doesn’t receive any revenue from this fee.
Also, credit card payments cannot exceed $1,000 per transaction. If you need to pay more, you’ll have to make multiple payments.
Pay by Phone
If you’re more comfortable making payments by phone, Aquarion has you covered:
- Call 866-446-2516 (available 24/7)
- Have your account number and billing zip code ready
- Pay with checking account or credit card
- Same service fee applies as with online one-time payments

How to Pay Using KUBRA EZ-PAY
Since Aquarion partners with KUBRA for payment processing, I wanted to give a more detailed look at how to use this service:
- Visit the KUBRA EZ-PAY site at https://v51.ez-pay.io/validate.aspx?BillerID=QmT86Ac2D5
- You’ll see “Aquarion Water” listed as the biller
- Enter your Aquarion account number and billing zip code
- Follow the prompts to complete your payment
When using KUBRA EZ-PAY, you’ll need to agree to their Terms of Use which include:
- You must be at least 18 years old
- You must provide accurate information
- You must be the legal owner of accounts used to make payments
- Your use of the service will not violate any laws
Avoiding Late Fees and Service Interruptions
Don’t wait until the last minute! Even though online payments are processed quickly, they might not post immediately to your account. If you’re paying after the due date, it’s a good idea to contact Aquarion customer service to avoid any potential collection activity.
The best way to avoid late payments is to set up Auto-Pay through the Aquarion Customer Portal. This way, your bill gets paid automatically every month without you having to remember.
Understanding Service Fees
Let’s clarify the service fees again, because they can be confusing:
- Online/phone one-time payments: $1.95 service fee applies for Massachusetts customers and non-residential customers in Connecticut and New Hampshire
- Walmart payments: $0.88 fee in Massachusetts and New Hampshire (fee may vary in Connecticut)
- Customer Portal Auto-Pay: No service fee
- Mail payments: No service fee (just the cost of a stamp)
Tips for Smooth Bill Payment Experience
After dealing with Aquarion billing for a year now, here are some tips I’ve learned:
- Keep your account number handy – You’ll need it for almost every payment method
- Set up Auto-Pay if possible – It’s the easiest way to avoid missed payments
- Consider paperless billing – It’s better for the environment and reduces clutter
- Allow processing time – Some payment methods take 2-3 days to post
- Keep payment receipts – Especially important for in-person or Walmart payments
What to Do If Your Payment Doesn’t Post
Sometimes payments get delayed or don’t post correctly. If this happens:
- Wait at least 2-3 business days for processing
- Check your bank account to confirm the payment went through on your end
- Contact Aquarion customer service at 1-800-732-9678
- Have your payment confirmation/receipt ready
