Are you tired of rushing to City Hall at the last minute to pay your Temple Terrace water bill? Maybe you’ve forgotten to mail your payment and faced those annoying late fees? I totally get it – we’ve all been there! As a longtime Temple Terrace resident, I’ve tried every possible way to pay my utility bill, and I’m gonna share everything I’ve learned to make your life easier.
Why Temple Terrace Offers So Many Payment Options
The City of Temple Terrace understands that residents have different preferences when it comes to paying bills. That’s why they’ve created multiple convenient options for handling your water bill payments. Whether you’re tech-savvy or prefer traditional methods, there’s definitely a payment option that fits your lifestyle.
Online Payment Methods – The Most Convenient Option
One-Time Online Payments
The quickest way to pay your Temple Terrace water bill is through their online payment portal, Here’s how to make a one-time payment
- Visit the official payment website: https://temp-egov.aspgov.com/Click2GovCX/index.html
- Select “One Time Payment” from the menu on the left side
- Enter your account number (found on your utility bill)
- Follow the prompts to complete your payment using a credit card, debit card, or bank account
This method is super convenient if you don’t want to create an account but still want to pay online. Just have your account number ready!
Setting Up an Online Account
If you pay your Temple Terrace water bill regularly, creating an account might be worth the extra minute it takes to set up. Here’s how
- Go to https://temp-egov.aspgov.com/Click2GovCX/index.html
- Click “New User” from the left-hand menu
- Follow the instructions to create your account
- Once set up, you can:
- View your payment history
- Check account status
- Make payments
- Set up auto-pay (for bank accounts only)
I personally use this method because I like seeing my payment history and keeping track of my water usage patterns.
Auto-Pay with Electronic Bank Draft
If you’re like me and sometimes forget due dates, auto-pay will be your best friend! Note that for Temple Terrace utilities, auto-pay is ONLY available through electronic bank draft (not with credit/debit cards). To set this up:
- Visit https://temp-egov.aspgov.com/Click2GovCX/index.html
- Login to your account (or create one if you haven’t already)
- Enroll in Auto Pay using the E-Check option
- Enter your bank routing and account numbers
- Confirm your enrollment
Once set up, your payment will automatically be withdrawn each billing cycle. No more late fees!
Phone Payment Option – Perfect When You’re On The Go
Sometimes I’m traveling or just don’t have access to a computer. That’s when the pay-by-phone option comes in handy:
- Call the dedicated payment line: 1-855-948-1926
- Have your account number ready
- Follow the automated prompts
- Pay using your debit or credit card
This is especially useful if you’re away from home but suddenly remember your bill is due!
Traditional Payment Methods Still Available
Paying by Mail
If you prefer the traditional route, you can still mail your payment:
- Make your check or money order payable to “City of Temple Terrace”
- Be sure to write your account number on the check
- Mail to: City of Temple Terrace, 11250 N 56th Street, Temple Terrace, FL 33617
Just remember to send it a few days early to make sure it arrives on time!
In-Person Payment Options
Sometimes it’s nice to get out of the house and pay in person:
- Visit City Hall during Customer Service hours (Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm)
- Use the payment kiosk available in City Hall (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm)
- Drop payments in the After-Hours Drop Box located in front of City Hall (for checks and money orders only)
I’ve used the drop box many times when I’ve cut it close to the deadline. It’s right across from the main door of City Hall and super easy to find.
Important Dates and Special Notices to Remember
When planning your Temple Terrace water bill payment, keep these special notices in mind:
-
Planned System Maintenance: Online payment systems will be unavailable on Saturday, October 25 due to scheduled maintenance. Service will be fully restored by 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 26.
-
Monthly Closing Hours: The Utility Billing Department closes at 1 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month for meetings and training. In-person and phone customer service won’t be available after this time.
I learned about these special closures the hard way when I tried to call with a billing question during their monthly meeting time. Definitely plan ahead!
Troubleshooting Payment Problems
Sometimes things don’t go as planned when paying your Temple Terrace water bill online. If you encounter issues:
- Email [email protected]
- Include details about the problem you’re experiencing
- If possible, capture a screenshot to help explain the issue
- Provide a phone number where they can reach you
When my payment didn’t go through last summer, I emailed them with a screenshot and they responded within a day to help resolve the problem.
Setting Up a New Account vs. Existing Users
For New Users:
If you’ve never created an account for online utility bill payments:
- Go to the payment portal
- Click “Create New User” at the top
- Follow the steps to establish your new user account
For Existing Users – Important Note:
If you previously set up an account with Temple Terrace for utility payments:
- Click “Login”
- Enter your complete utility account number (format: xxxxx-xxxxx) and your existing password
- The system will prompt you to create a new User ID using your email address
- After activating the account, you’ll use your email as your User ID going forward
When I had to update my account last year, I was confused about this process until I carefully read the instructions. Your existing accounts and wallet info will be connected to your new email-based User ID.
Avoiding Online Scams
Unfortunately, utility bill scams are common. To protect yourself:
- Only use the official links provided by the City of Temple Terrace
- The correct payment website is: https://temp-egov.aspgov.com/Click2GovCX/index.html
- Be suspicious of emails claiming your service will be disconnected
- Never provide personal information to unverified callers claiming to be from the utility department
Benefits of Temple Terrace’s Online Utility System
The online portal offers more than just bill payment. You can:
- Review your payment history
- Check pending payments
- Monitor your account status
- Manage multiple properties under one login
- Track your water usage patterns
I particularly like seeing my payment history to budget for seasonal changes in water usage.
