Are you a Clackamas River Water customer looking for the easiest way to pay your water bill? I’ve been there! After forgetting to pay my bill last month (oops!), I decided to explore all the payment options available to us residents. Whether you prefer paying online, over the phone, or the old-fashioned way by mail, I’ve got you covered with this comprehensive guide to Clackamas River water bill payments.
Important Update for Commercial Customers
Before diving into payment methods, commercial customers should note that July commercial bills will be sent out on August 8th There’s also been a change in account numbers! You’ll need your new account number to access the new payment portal, Xpress Bill Pay When logging in for the first time, make sure to use this new account number to register and set up your account.
Online Payment Options
Paying Through Xpress Bill Pay
Clackamas River Water now uses Xpress Bill Pay as their online payment platform. This is by far the most convenient method I’ve found for paying my water bill. Here’s why:
- Fast and secure payment processing
- 24/7 accessibility from anywhere
- Mobile app available for payments on the go
- User-friendly interface that’s easy to navigate
To pay online, simply click on “Pay Online Now” from the CRW website, or visit their direct payment portal. First-time users will need to register with their new account number.
Setting Up Auto-Pay
If you’re forgetful like me, setting up automatic payments is a lifesaver! You can set up recurring payments through Xpress Bill Pay using your credit card or debit card.
For those who prefer using their checking account, Clackamas River Water offers pre-authorized recurring payments. These are typically drawn on the 20th of each month. To set this up, you’ll need to:
- Fill out the Preauthorized Payments Agreement
- Sign the form
- Send it to CRW along with a copy of a voided check
Phone Payment Option
Sometimes the website can be a bit glitchy (happened to me last month!), so it’s good to know you can also pay by phone. Just call (503) 722-9220 to speak with customer service They’re super helpful and can assist with processing your payment
Mail and In-Person Payment Options
Paying by Mail
If you prefer sending a check. you can mail your payment to
Clackamas River Water
16770 SE 82nd Dr.
Clackamas, OR 97015
Just make sure to include your account number on your check!
In-Person Payments
You can also pay your bill in person at the CRW office located at the address above. Their office hours aren’t explicitly stated on the website, so I’d recommend calling before making the trip.
Understanding Your Clackamas River Water Bill
Reading your water bill can sometimes feel like deciphering a foreign language. Here’s what you should know:
- Your bill will show your water consumption for the billing period
- Charges include base fees and usage rates
- Water rates may vary based on your consumption tier
If you have questions about your bill, you can click on “Reading Your Bill” on the CRW website for a detailed breakdown.
What About Clackamas County WES Bills?
It’s important to note that Clackamas River Water is different from Clackamas County Water Environment Services (WES). If you receive a WES bill for sewer and surface water services, the payment options are different.
For WES bills, you can:
- Pay online through their payment portal
- Pay by phone at 503-742-4567
- Mail payments to PO Box 6940, Portland, OR 97228-6940
- Pay in person at 150 Beavercreek Road, Oregon City, OR
WES bills are due on the 20th of the month following service. If your account becomes more than 60 days past due, it may be certified, which means the charges (plus a $50 processing fee) will be added to your property tax bill.
Financial Assistance Programs
If you’re struggling to pay your water bill, don’t panic! There are resources available:
- Payment plans to spread out large bills
- Low-income customer discounts for qualified customers
- The Low Income Household Water Assistance (LIHWA) Program
Contact customer service to learn more about these options.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why did my water rates increase?
Clackamas Water rates are adjusted annually. Increases typically become effective July 1st to support current and ongoing water services and infrastructure.
What happens if I forget to pay my bill?
If your bill becomes significantly past due, you may face late fees or potential service disruption. For WES bills specifically, accounts more than 60 days past due may be certified and added to your property tax bill.
How do I update my contact information?
You can update your contact info by clicking on “Update Your Contact Info” on the CRW website. Keeping your information current ensures you receive important notifications about your account.
Can I use my bank’s routing and account numbers to pay my bill online?
For CRW bills through Xpress Bill Pay, this option may be available. For WES bills, bank routing and account numbers cannot be used in their online payment system, but you can set up pre-authorized payments using the Preauthorized Payments Agreement.
My Personal Experience
When I first moved to Clackamas County, I was confused about which water service I had. Turns out, some areas get their drinking water from Clackamas River Water, while sewage and stormwater are handled by WES. This means some of us get two separate bills!
I’ve found the online payment option to be the most convenient. Setting up auto-pay through Xpress Bill Pay took me about 5 minutes, and I haven’t had to worry about my water bill since. The mobile app is especially handy – I can check my usage and pay my bill while waiting in line for coffee!
Wrapping Up
Paying your Clackamas River Water bill doesn’t have to be complicated. Whether you choose online, phone, mail, or in-person payment options, the most important thing is finding what works for you and your schedule.
I recommend setting up auto-pay if possible – it’s one less thing to worry about each month. And if you ever have questions about your bill or payment options, don’t hesitate to contact customer service. They’re there to help!
Remember to keep your account information handy, especially if you’re a commercial customer with a new account number. And if you’re struggling to pay your bill, reach out about assistance programs – they’re there for a reason!
Stay hydrated, Clackamas County!
