- Mail-In Options – Old school but reliable
Let’s dive into each option so you can choose what works best for your lifestyle!
Online Bill Pay – The Most Convenient Method
The City of Gautier has made things super easy with their online payment system. I’ve been using this for years, and it’s saved me countless hours and late fees!
To pay online:
- Visit https://gautierms.municipalonlinepayments.com/gautierms/utilities
- Choose either “Quick Pay” or “Sign In/Register”
- Quick Pay – Perfect if you just wanna pay fast without creating an account
- Sign In/Register – Great for viewing history, managing multiple accounts, or setting up auto-pay
The online system accepts major credit cards and electronic checks. What I love most is that you can pay anytime, day or night – even at 2AM in your pajamas!
Creating an Online Account – Worth the Extra Minute
While Quick Pay is convenient, I highly recommend creating an account. Here’s why:
- View your payment history
- Set up automatic payments (no more forgetting!)
- Manage multiple accounts (perfect for landlords or if you’re helping elderly parents)
- Get email notifications about bills and due dates
The registration process only takes about 2 minutes, and it’s completely free. You’ll just need your account number from a recent bill.
Pay By Phone – For the Always-On-The-Go Folks
If you’re like me and sometimes forget to pay until the last minute, the phone option is a lifesaver! Simply call the Utility Department at 228-497-2276 during office hours:
- Monday through Friday
- 8:10 AM to 4:50 PM
The staff is super friendly and can take your payment over the phone using a credit card or checking account. I’ve had to call them a few times when my internet was down, and they were always helpful!
In-Person Payments – The Traditional Route
Some people just prefer handling business face-to-face, and there’s nothing wrong with that! You can pay your Gautier water bill in person at:
Gautier City Hall
3330 US-90
Gautier, MS 39553
Their office hours match the phone payment hours:
- Monday through Friday
- 8:10 AM to 4:50 PM
In-person payments can be made using:
- Cash (exact change appreciated)
- Check
- Credit/debit cards
- Money orders
Pro tip: Try to avoid going during lunch hours (12-1 PM) when it tends to be busiest!
Mail-In Payments – Plan Ahead!
If you’re the type who likes to plan ahead, you can mail your payment to:
City of Gautier
P.O. Box 670
Gautier, MS 39553
Important notes for mail-in payments:
- Include your account number on your check!
- Allow 5-7 business days for processing
- Mail early to avoid late fees
I used to do this before discovering online payments, but I occasionally cut it too close to the due date. Not recommended if you tend to procrastinate like me!
Understanding Your Gautier Water Bill
Your water bill includes charges for:
- Water service
- Sewer service
- Any applicable fees or previous balances
The bill is typically sent monthly, and the due date is clearly marked on the statement. Late payments may result in additional fees or, in extreme cases, service disconnection.
Who to Contact About Water Issues in Gautier
The Water & Sewer Division of the Public Works Department maintains all water distribution systems in Gautier. If you notice water leaks or have sewer problems, don’t wait – report them immediately!
For water leaks or sewer issues:

Common Questions About Gautier Water Bills
How often will I receive my bill?
Water bills in Gautier are typically sent monthly. The exact billing cycle may depend on your service area.
What if my bill seems unusually high?
First, check for leaks! Even a small toilet leak can waste thousands of gallons. If you can’t find any issues, contact the Utility Department at 228-497-2276 to discuss your concerns.
Can I set up automatic payments?
Yes! Through the online portal, you can set up recurring payments using a credit card or bank account. This has been a game-changer for me – no more late fees!
What happens if I’m late paying my bill?
Late payments typically incur a penalty fee. If a bill remains unpaid for too long, service disconnection may occur, along with additional reconnection fees when service is restored.
Water Conservation Tips to Lower Your Bill
Want to save money on your water bill? Try these simple tips:
- Fix leaky faucets promptly (a dripping faucet can waste up to 3,000 gallons per year!)
- Install low-flow showerheads and toilets
- Only run full loads in your dishwasher and washing machine
- Water your lawn during early morning or evening hours
- Consider collecting rainwater for garden use
My water bill dropped nearly 20% after I replaced my old toilet with a water-efficient model!
Emergency Water Situations in Gautier
If you experience a water emergency such as a major leak or complete service disruption:
- During business hours: Call 228-497-2276

My Personal Experience with Gautier Water Services
As someone who’s lived in Gautier for years, I’ve been generally impressed with the water service. The water quality is good, and when I’ve had issues (like that time my water meter was damaged during a storm), the service department responded quickly.
The online payment system has definitely been the biggest improvement in recent years. No more writing checks or making special trips to City Hall!

- Keep contact info updated – Make sure the city has your current phone and email
- Report issues promptly – The sooner you report leaks or sewer problems, the quicker they can be fixed
- Consider budget billing – If your usage varies seasonally, ask about averaging options
