Are you tired of rushing to pay your South Blount County Utility District bill at the last minute? I’ve been there too! As someone who’s lived in Maryville for years, I’ve tried every payment method they offer, and I’m excited to share everything I’ve learned about making your utility payments hassle-free
In this comprehensive guide, we’ll explore all the different ways you can pay your South Blount Utility bill, from online options to traditional methods. I’ll also share some personal tips that have helped me stay on top of my payments and avoid those pesky late fees!
Online Bill Pay: The Most Convenient Option
When it comes to paying your South Blount Utility bill, their online payment portal is definitely the way to go. I switched to online payments last year, and it’s been a game-changer for me!
Creating an Online Account
To get started with online bill pay, you’ll need to create an account first Here’s how
- Visit the South Blount payment portal
- Click on “Register” to create your account
- Have your billing information handy during setup
Once you’ve created an account, you’ll unlock several awesome features:
- Access your bill anytime
- Review your payment history
- Set up recurring payments (my personal favorite!)
- Store payment information for faster checkout
- Enroll in paperless billing
- Set up text payments
- Create email & text reminders
The payment portal is super secure and easy to navigate. When I first signed up, I had a few questions about the process, but a quick call to their customer service line at (865) 982-3560 cleared everything up.
One thing to remember: online payments take about 24 hours to process, so don’t wait until the very last minute!
Quick One-Time Payments
Sometimes you just need to make a quick payment without creating an account. South Blount Utility has you covered with their one-time payment option:
- Visit their payment portal
- Look for the “Quick Pay” option
- Enter your information and make your payment
This is perfect if you’re in a hurry or don’t want to create a full account. I’ve used this option several times when traveling and it works perfectly!
Transaction Fees for Online Payments
When paying online, be aware of these transaction fees from third-party vendors:
| Payment Method | Fee |
|---|---|
| E-Check | $0.95 |
| Credit Card | $1.95 |
The fees are reasonable compared to late payment penalties, but it’s something to keep in mind when choosing your payment method.
Bank Draft: Set It and Forget It
If you’re like me and sometimes forget to pay bills on time, bank draft is a fantastic option. With this method, your bill amount is automatically drafted from your bank account each month.
How to Enroll in Bank Draft
To set up bank draft payments:
- Complete the enrollment form (available on their website)
- Return it to their Customer Service Center:
- By mail
- Or drop it off in person
- Don’t forget to attach a voided check!
This is one of the FREE payment options South Blount offers, which is why I personally use it. No transaction fees!
Important Bank Draft Timeline
- Allow 7-10 business days for processing after submitting your form
- The debit occurs monthly in the amount on your bill
- First debit begins 2 business days before the due date
- Billing statements are mailed at least 10 days before debiting your account
- If the debit date falls on a non-banking day, it hits your account the next banking day
If you ever need to cancel your bank draft, South Blount requires 30 days to process the cancellation request. I learned this the hard way when I changed banks last year!
Bill Pay Through Your Bank
Another convenient option is using your own bank’s bill pay service. Most banks offer this feature, and it’s how my parents prefer to pay their utility bills.
To set this up:
- Contact your bank or financial institution
- Have your South Blount billing information ready
- Follow your bank’s process for adding a new payee
Your bank will either mail South Blount a paper check or send the payment electronically. If you need help with this process, you can always call South Blount at (865) 982-3560.
Traditional Payment Methods
If you prefer traditional payment methods, South Blount still accepts them!
Mail-in Payments
You can mail your check payment to:
South Blount County Utility District
P.O. Box 4638
Maryville, TN 37802
I recommend mailing your payment at least 5-7 days before the due date to ensure it arrives on time. One time I sent my payment just 3 days before the deadline and it didn’t get processed in time!
Important Reminders About South Blount Utility
Here are some important things to remember about your South Blount Utility service:
If Your Service Is Disconnected
If your water service has been disconnected due to non-payment, South Blount’s website clearly states that you need to call their office at (865) 982-3560 AFTER making your payment to restore service. The online system won’t automatically turn your water back on!
Stay Informed
To keep up with the latest news and updates about your water service:
- Follow South Blount County Utility District on Instagram and Facebook
- Check their website for announcements
- Watch for their newsletter
For example, I just saw on their website that “THE BOARD MEETING HAS BEEN CHANGED TO MONDAY NOVEMBER 3, 2025” and “WATER WILL BE OFF ON DUG GAP RD FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS 10/10/25.” These updates are super helpful if you live in affected areas!
Why I Switched to Online Payments
When I first moved to Maryville, I used to mail in my payments every month. Then one month, I completely forgot until the day before it was due! I panicked and had to drive to their office to make a payment in person.
The only hiccup I’ve experienced was when my credit card expired, and I forgot to update my information. But even then, South Blount sent me a reminder email, so I was able to update my card before missing a payment.
Contacting South Blount Utility Customer Service
If you have any questions or issues with your bill or payment options, South Blount has excellent customer service. You can reach them at:
- Phone: (865) 982-3560
- Address: 320 Partnership Parkway, Maryville, TN 37801
Their team is always friendly and helpful. Last winter when I had a question about a higher-than-normal bill, they took the time to explain seasonal usage differences and even helped me check for potential leaks.
Tips for Never Missing a Payment
Based on my experience with South Blount Utility, here are some tips to help you never miss a payment:
- Set up autopay – This is the easiest way to ensure your bill is paid on time every month.
- Enroll in text/email reminders – Even with autopay, it’s nice to get a heads-up when your bill is ready or a payment is about to process.
- Use the mobile-friendly website – You can check your account and make payments from anywhere!
- Keep your contact info updated – Make sure South Blount has your current email and phone number.
- Mark payment dates on your calendar – If you don’t use autopay, set reminders for yourself.
Understanding Your South Blount Utility Bill

Final Thoughts
Paying your South Blount Utility bill doesn’t have to be a hassle. With six different payment options, you can choose the method that works best for your lifestyle and preferences. I personally recommend creating an online account and setting up autopay – it’s been a real lifesaver for me!
Remember, no matter which payment method you choose, the most important thing is to pay on time to avoid service interruptions and late fees. And if you ever have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to their customer service team at (865) 982-3560.
