Special Considerations for Cherokee Residents

Toilet Rebate Program

Did you know CCWSA offers a toilet rebate program? If you’re replacing old, inefficient toilets, you might qualify for a rebate! Check their website for details.

Leak Policy

Water leaks happen to the best of us! CCWSA has a leak policy that might help if you experience an unexpected increase in your bill due to a leak. Contact customer service to learn more.

What To Do If You’re Having Trouble Paying Your Bill

Times get tough – I get it. If you’re struggling to pay your water bill:

  1. Contact customer service immediately: Don’t wait until disconnection
  2. Ask about payment arrangements: Many water authorities offer payment plans
  3. Check for assistance programs: Some communities have help for those in need
  4. Fix leaks promptly: Even small leaks can cause big bills

Tracking Your Water Usage

One of the best ways to manage your water bill is to keep track of your usage. Most online accounts let you view your consumption history. This helped me identify a toilet leak that was costing me an extra $30 a month!

Water Conservation Tips to Lower Your Bill

Want to save some cash? Try these simple water-saving tips:

  • Fix leaky faucets and toilets promptly
  • Install low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators
  • Run full loads of laundry and dishes
  • Water your lawn in early morning or evening
  • Install rain barrels to collect water for outdoor use

I started doing these things and cut my water bill by almost 20%!

Understanding Your Water Bill

Your Cherokee water bill includes:

  • Water usage charges
  • Sewer charges (if applicable)
  • Service fees
  • Any past due amounts

Water rates are typically tiered, meaning the more water you use, the higher the rate per gallon. Understanding this structure can help you budget better.

Planning Ahead: Budget Billing Options

Some water authorities offer budget billing options that average your payments throughout the year. This can help prevent those shocking summer bills when water usage typically increases.

Moving? Don’t Forget Your Water Bill!

If you’re moving to or from Cherokee, remember to:

  1. Contact the water authority to start or stop service
  2. Provide your new address for final bills
  3. Pay any remaining balance
  4. Return any equipment if required

The Bottom Line on Cherokee Water Bill Payments

Paying your Cherokee water bill doesn’t have to be complicated. With so many payment options available, you can choose what works best for your lifestyle and preferences. The online portal at cmd.authoritypay.com or CCWSA’s website offers the most convenience for most people, but phone, mail, and in-person options remain available for those who prefer them.

Water is our most precious resource, and paying your bill on time ensures continued access to clean, safe water for your home. Plus, timely payments avoid those annoying late fees and potential service disruptions.

So what are ya waiting for? Pick your preferred payment method and keep that water flowing!
