Are you tired of forgetting to pay your electric bill on time? Do you find yourself rushing to make last-minute payments? Well, we’ve got you covered! As a member of White River Valley Electric Cooperative (WRVEC), you have access to several convenient ways to pay your bill. I’ve been using WRVEC services for years, and I’m excited to share all the payment options that have made my life easier.
Why WRVEC Bill Pay Matters
Before diving into the payment methods, let’s understand why timely bill payments are important. When we pay our electric bills on time, we:
- Avoid late fees and service interruptions
- Maintain a good payment history
- Help WRVEC continue providing reliable service
- Support our local cooperative community
Payment Options Available at WRVEC
White River Valley Electric Cooperative understands that members have different preferences when it comes to paying bills. That’s why they offer multiple payment methods designed to fit your lifestyle. Let’s explore each option:
1. SmartHub Online Portal
SmartHub is WRVEC’s online portal that allows you to manage your account 24/7. It’s my personal favorite way to pay!
Benefits of SmartHub:
- View and pay bills from anywhere
- Set up automatic payments
- Track your energy usage
- Report outages
- Receive important notifications
To access SmartHub simply visit the WRVEC website and click on the SmartHub button at the top of the page. You’ll need to create an account if you haven’t already.
2. Pay Now Option
If you’re in a hurry or don’t want to log into your account the “Pay Now” feature is perfect. This quick payment option can be accessed directly from the WRVEC website.
How it works:
- Visit the WRVEC website
- Click on the “Pay Now” button
- Enter your account information
- Make your payment securely
This option is super handy when I’m traveling and need to make a quick payment without logging into my full account.
3. Automatic Bank Draft
Set it and forget it! The automatic bank draft option ensures your bill is always paid on time by automatically withdrawing the payment from your checking or savings account.
Advantages
- Never miss a payment
- No need to remember due dates
- No postage or check-writing
- Payments are always on time
To set up automatic bank draft, you’ll need to complete an authorization form available on the WRVEC website or at any of their offices.
4. Phone Payments
Sometimes, I just prefer talking to a real person. WRVEC offers phone payment options for members who prefer this method.
Phone payment details:
- Call WRVEC’s customer service number
- Have your account number ready
- Follow the prompts or speak with a representative
- Complete your payment using a credit card, debit card, or checking account
5. In-Person Payments
WRVEC maintains several service area locations where you can pay your bill in person:
- Branson West
- Gainesville
- Forsyth
- Ava
- Ozark
When I’m already out running errands, I sometimes stop by one of these offices to pay my bill and chat with the friendly staff.
6. Mail-In Payments
The traditional method of mailing your payment still works perfectly fine! Simply send your payment along with your bill stub to the address provided on your bill.
Remember to:
- Allow sufficient time for delivery
- Include your account number on your check
- Use the return envelope provided with your bill
7. Payment Drop Boxes
WRVEC provides secure payment drop boxes at all of their office locations. These are accessible 24/7, making them convenient for after-hours payments.
I’ve used these drop boxes plenty of times when I needed to make a payment over the weekend!
Understanding Your WRVEC Bill
To make the most of these payment options, it helps to understand what you’re actually paying for. WRVEC provides detailed bill explanations on their website.
Service Availability Charge
One component of your bill is the service availability charge. This charge covers the cost of delivering power to your home, regardless of how much electricity you use. According to WRVEC, “The cost of delivering power is the same regardless of how much electricity is used. The service availability charge covers those costs and they are spread fairly and equitably across all of our members regardless of the level of electricity used.”
Itemized Breakdown
Your WRVEC bill comes with an itemized breakdown that shows exactly what you’re paying for. The cooperative provides detailed explanations of both page one and page two of your bill on their website. This transparency helps members understand their energy usage and costs.
Net Metering Members
If you’re a net metering member (perhaps you have solar panels or other renewable energy sources), WRVEC provides special explanations for your bill format. Look for the “Net Metering Members” section on their website for more information.

I’ve personally found that setting up automatic payments through SmartHub has been a game-changer for me – no more forgotten bills or late fees! But everyone’s different, and that’s why having so many options is great.
Remember, WRVEC is more than just an electric provider – it’s a cooperative owned by us, the members. By paying our bills on time through whichever method works best for us, we’re supporting our own community-owned utility.

Keeping the ozarks cool and connected
There is something about an Ozarks summer that brings back a flood of memories. Soon, the smell of fresh cut hay will fill the air. I still remember the long June days growing up—painting outside under a steady sun, hauling hay until my arms ached, and cooling off just in time for a church league softball game under the lights.
