Simplify Your FELPS Bill Pay: 7 Ways to Pay Your Electric Bill Today

Post date |

Are you tired of forgetting to pay your electric bill on time? Or maybe you’re just looking for more convenient ways to handle your FELPS payments? Well I’ve been there too! As someone living in the Floresville area I’ve tried pretty much all the payment methods FELPS offers, and I’m here to share my experiences with you.

FELPS (Floresville Electric Light and Power System) provides several easy ways to pay your electric bill. Whether you prefer doing things online, over the phone, or the old-fashioned way in person, they’ve got options that’ll work for your lifestyle.

Online Payment – The Most Popular Option

The easiest way to pay your FELPS bill is definitely online. Just click the “PAY MY BILL” button in the upper right corner of the FELPS website. I personally use this method all the time because:

  • It’s available 24/7
  • No need to mail anything or drive anywhere
  • You can pay using credit card or bank account
  • It’s secure and gives you immediate confirmation

To pay online, you’ll need your 8-digit FELPS account number Don’t have it handy? It should be right on your bill statement The online portal is super user-friendly, even for people who aren’t tech-savvy (like my grandmother who recently started using it!).

Auto-Pay: Set It and Forget It

If your like me and tend to forget due dates, the Auto-Pay option is a lifesaver! I switched to this about a year ago, and it’s been amazing not having to worry about late fees anymore.

With Auto-Pay. FELPS will

  • Automatically draft your bank account OR
  • Charge your credit card on the due date
  • Process payment on the next business day if the office is closed

Setting up Auto-Pay is super easy – just go through the “PAY MY BILL” option on the website and follow the instructions to enroll. You can also download the PDF form if you prefer doing things the paper way.

Phone Payment – Quick and Convenient

Sometimes I’m just too busy to sit down at the computer, so paying by phone comes in handy. FELPS offers phone payments through their automated IVR system, which is available 24/7. Just call 830.216.7000 with your account number ready.

If you prefer talking to a real person, customer service representatives can take your payment during office hours (Monday-Friday, 8am-4:15pm).

One important thing to note – if your service has been disconnected for non-payment, you MUST speak to a customer service rep to get reconnected. The automated system won’t help you there.

In-Person Payments – The Traditional Way

Sometimes I just happen to be driving by the FELPS office, so I’ll stop in to make a payment. Their office is located at 187 State Highway 97 E in Floresville, Texas. They’re open Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:15pm.

You can pay with:

  • Cash
  • Check
  • Credit card
  • Money order

The staff there is usually pretty friendly, and I rarely have to wait long in line.

After-Hours Drop Box

FELPS also has a drive-thru drop box available 24/7 at their office. This is handy when I need to drop off a payment outside of business hours. Just remember – don’t leave payments in the drop box after 8am on disconnection days if you’re at risk of having your service cut off.

Retail Payment Stations – Pay While Shopping

This is actually a really convenient option that not everyone knows about! You can pay your FELPS bill at local HEB grocery or Walmart stores. I’ve used this option a few times when I was already shopping and realized my bill was due.

Just be aware:

  • You’ll need your full 8-digit account number
  • The store charges a convenience fee
  • Payment posting times vary (ask the clerk)
  • Always get a receipt as proof of payment!

You can pay using whatever payment methods the store accepts (cash, check, credit card, etc.).

Mail-In Payments – The Old School Option

If you prefer the traditional way, you can always mail your payment to:

FELPS
187 State Highway 97 E
Floresville, Texas 78114

Just make sure to mail it early enough to arrive before the due date! I don’t recommend this method if you’re cutting it close to the deadline, as mail delays could result in late fees.

Avoiding Scams When Paying Your FELPS Bill

One thing I wanna mention – be careful about scams! There are fake payment websites out there trying to steal your information. Always make sure you’re on the official FELPS website (www.felps.us) when making online payments.

For example, sites like 654trk.com have been flagged as potential scams according to Scam Detector. Never enter your payment information on unfamiliar sites claiming to process FELPS payments.

Customer Service Support

If you ever have questions about your bill or payment options, FELPS has great customer service. You can reach them at:

  • Phone: 830.216.7000
  • Email: [email protected]
  • Office hours: Monday – Friday, 8am to 4:15pm

What About Power Outages?

While this isn’t directly related to paying your bill, it’s worth mentioning that if you experience a power outage, you can report it by clicking the red “OUTAGE INFO” button in the upper right corner of the FELPS website. This is super helpful during storm season!

My Personal Experience with FELPS Bill Pay

I’ve been a FELPS customer for about 5 years now, and I’ve tried pretty much all these payment methods at some point. In my experience, the online payment and auto-pay options are by far the most convenient.

When I first moved to the area, I used to pay in person because I liked having that paper receipt in my hand. But after missing a payment deadline once (and having to pay that annoying late fee!), I switched to auto-pay and haven’t looked back.

The only downside to auto-pay is that I sometimes forget to check how much I’m actually being charged each month. So now I set a reminder to review my bill amount a few days before the automatic payment goes through.

Final Thoughts on FELPS Bill Payment

Paying your FELPS electric bill doesn’t have to be a hassle. With so many payment options available, you can choose whatever works best for your lifestyle.

My recommendation? Set up auto-pay if you’re forgetful like me, or use the online payment portal if you prefer to review your bill each month before paying. And always keep your account number handy!

Remember that FELPS is your local electric utility provider serving the Floresville area, including La Vernia, Poth, and Stockdale. They’re part of our community, so don’t hesitate to reach out to their customer service if you need help!

Have you tried any of these payment methods? Which one works best for you? I’m curious to hear about your experiences with FELPS bill payments!

UnitedHealthcare UCards Not Accepted

UnitedHealthcare recently introduced its UCard program for members enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan. Unfortunately, UCards are not connected to the Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express networks, so Fort Collins Utilities – along with many other utility service providers – is unable to process the cards for bill payment.

Have multiple accounts? Follow these five steps for quick payment processing.

Fort Collins Utilities partners with local organizations to provide efficiency, conservation and bill payment assistance programs, including low- or no-cost resources that keep utility costs down. Programs include:

  • Income-Qualified Assistance Program (a discounted utility rate for qualifying customers)
  • Payment Assistance Fund (one-time bill payment assistance)

Average out seasonal variations in your bill (restrictions apply).
