My mom has been a member with Midnight Velvet for 12 years and 6 months and she always pays everything on time, and its enough for them to always up her credit limit. She didnt order anything from them for 6 months and when she ordered something for Fathers Day, they put a hard inquiry on her credit without telling her. Midnight Velvet shouldnt put a hard inquiry on someones credit just because they havent ordered anything with them in 6 months. Thats a scam, especially when my mom was on the phone with one of the representatives about ordering the shoes that was supposed on be here on June 13, 2025, and theyre still in Winsconsin… Were in California, so for them to not even tell my mom that they were going to put a hard inquiry and then tell her a specific date that the shoes were going to be here and they arent its a scam. Midnight needs to do better before they get a bad lawsuit because were fighting this. By the way, a supervisor told one of her representatives to tell my mom that they do a hard inquiry every time you buy something.

My item arrived on time and was nice, however it didn’t fit and measured it was bigger than stated on their size chart. It was $60 + tax for 1 blouse. They refused to provide shipping label and told me to return at my own expense in original box that was size of a shoebox for a small blouse! I will never buy another item from them. Big RIP off! Selling fake gold jewelry. They claim the gold is 10K and very pricey for a very thin, flimsy chain. Its sometimes difficult to tell when you are shopping from a catalog to know exactly what the product will actually look like when you receive it. In addition to the chain being about the circumference less than a piece of spaghetti it was paper thin. The kicker was that it seemed to tarnishing which should not happen if its real gold as they claim (they absolutely stated its not gold over silver its solid 10K gold) so I took it to my neighborhood jeweler and had it tested for authenticity. I was told its not real gold at all! This was a gift for my grandson, his first real “gold chain” which turned out not to be gold at all! He was so disappointed and I was beyond embarrassed to say the least. The customer service will tell you that they are “sorry” but refuse to admit that they did anything wrong. Sad they are taking advantage of unsuspecting customers. ***BEWARE!***

Midnight Velvet has fraudulent accounting. They have been fraudulently reporting that I owe over $600 on my previous account. They NEVER credited my account for ANY payments made. I ended up settling the account for $160.77 with Collection Bureau of Hudson Vallley on April 19, 2022 through AmeriMark (Midnight Velvets previous parent company). At no time did Midnight Velvet make any adjustments or report accurately to all three credit reporting companies. I am still trying to get this resolved today.

The merchandise is nice but very pricey. DO NOT get/use their so-called credit card/plan! They charge you $20 a month just for the privilege of buying their merchandise. Say you charge a $100 item. You plan in paying it back at about $25/mo for 4 months (plus interest). Month 1: your $25 goes toward your $20 charge fee plus about $5 interest. Result: you still owe $25! At month 2 when you get smart, you pay $50. Again, $20 fee plus $5 interest: now youve paid $75 and you still owe $75 on your $100 bill! It will take you 2 more $50 payments to pay it down: $175 on your $100 purchase! Doesnt stop there…….they will continue to charge you $20/mo until you cancel the credit plan. And they charge you interest on your $20 if youre late. TOTAL RIP-OFF. SHOULD BE ILLEGAL. DONT BE TEMPTED OR FOOLED.

Their reliable return/refund policy make it easier for me who hates shopping. I get into some of their fine jewelry and caftans. Taking a trip up north and I have something for everyone. Might want to be cautious if doing the deferred payment plan option. one could end up paying $80 a month, towards a balance that looks pretty much the same on each bill. not to mention their jewelery is prone to tarnish which was surprising, because ive dollar store jewelery that has still maintained its color. also may be helpful to know customer service is not available on weekends which is when working customers generally have the time to utilize.
