Water Conservation Tips
Since we’re all paying for water usage, I thought I’d throw in some quick tips to help lower your bill:
- Fix leaky faucets and toilets immediately (a single dripping faucet can waste 20+ gallons per day!)
- Install low-flow showerheads and toilets
- Run dishwashers and washing machines only when full
- Water your lawn according to local restrictions
- Consider Florida-friendly landscaping that requires less watering
Sarasota Water Restrictions
Sarasota County enforces water restrictions to conserve resources. Generally, watering is limited to specific days based on your address:
- Even-numbered addresses: Tuesday and Saturday
- Odd-numbered addresses: Wednesday and Sunday
Always check the current restrictions on the County’s website, as they can change during drought conditions.
Final Thoughts
Managing your Sarasota County water bill doesn’t have to be complicated. With multiple payment options available—from online portals to in-person service—you can choose what works best for your lifestyle.
I personally prefer the online payment system because it lets me schedule automatic payments (and I’m the type who always forgets due dates!). But many of my older neighbors prefer the dropbox option since they’re out running errands anyway.
Whatever method you choose, just remember to keep track of your due dates to avoid any late fees or service interruptions. And if you ever have questions about your bill or need assistance, don’t hesitate to contact customer service—they’re actually pretty helpful!
Have you found other convenient ways to pay your water bill in Sarasota County? What’s been your experience with the local utility companies? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
