Are you tired of forgetting to pay your Dunn Energy bill or looking for easier ways to manage your electricity payments? I’ve been there too! As someone who’s been a Dunn Energy customer for years, I’ve tried pretty much all their payment methods Let me share what I’ve learned about the different ways you can pay your Dunn Energy bill – from online options to old-school methods
Quick Payment Options at a Glance
Before diving into details, here’s a quick overview of all the ways you can pay your Dunn Energy bill:
- Online through SmartHub – View, pay and manage your account
- Pay Now option – Quick payment without registration
- Phone payment – Call (855) 957-3716 anytime

Online Bill Pay Through SmartHub
The easiest and most convinient way to pay your Dunn Energy bill is through their online portal called SmartHub. I switched to this method last year and honestly wish I’d done it sooner!
How to Get Started with SmartHub
To use the SmartHub service
- Visit dunnenergy.smarthub.coop/Login.html
- For first-time users, have your full account number ready (it looks like 140000000)
- Create your account by following the prompts
- Once registered, you can login anytime to view and pay your bill
Benefits of Using SmartHub
When I started using SmartHub I noticed several advantages
- Go paperless – Save trees and reduce clutter
- Multiple payment options – Pay by debit/credit card, electronic check, or set up automatic bank withdrawals
- 24/7 access – Pay whenever it’s convenient for you
- Track your energy usage – See how much electricity you’re using
- Bill history – Access past statements easily
If you want to stop receiving paper bills (which I did to save some trees), just select “Yes” when prompted with “Would you like to turn off paper bills?” during registration.
Pay Now Option – No Registration Needed
Don’t want to create an account? No problem! Dunn Energy offers a “Pay Now” option that’s super helpful when you’re in a hurry or just don’t want another login to remember.
Just head to their website and look for the “Pay Now” button. You’ll need your account number and payment information, but it’s quick and doesn’t require any registration. I’ve used this a couple times when I was traveling and realized my bill was due!
Pay By Phone
Sometimes the simplest solution is to just make a phone call. Dunn Energy’s phone payment system is:
- Available 24/7
- Free to use
- Automated for quick processing
To pay by phone:
- Dial (855) 957-3716
- Have your account number ready
- Have your credit/debit card or checking account info handy
- Follow the automated prompts
They accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express, which gives you plenty of options.
Automatic Payment Plan – Set It and Forget It
This is my personal favorite method since I switched last fall! With the Automatic Payment Plan, your payment is automatically withdrawn from your designated bank account or credit card on the 20th of each month.
No more forgetting due dates or scrambling to make payments while on vacation! You can easily set this up through SmartHub, and it’s totally changed how I manage my utility payments.
In-Person Payment Options
Pay in the Office
If you prefer the old-fashioned way of paying bills in person (and maybe chatting with the friendly staff), you can always stop by the Dunn Energy office:
- Location: N5725 600th St., Menomonie
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Night Depository
Can’t make it during business hours? No worries! Dunn Energy provides a night depository that’s available 24/7. It’s located under the flagpole at their office. I’ve used this a few times when I was running errands in town after hours.
Credit Card Payments
Dunn Energy accepts all major credit cards:
- VISA®
- MasterCard®
- Discover®
- American Express®
You can use your credit card for one-time payments or set up automatic monthly payments that will be processed on the 20th of each month.
Levelized Budget Billing Program – For Predictable Bills
Do you hate those surprising high bills during extreme weather months? The Levelized Budget Billing Program might be perfect for you!
This program makes your monthly bill the same amount every month, all year long. It’s great for budgeting and there’s no additional charge for this service. To enroll, simply fill out their Budget Billing Enrollment Form available on their website.
My neighbor switched to this last year and loves knowing exactly what her energy bill will be each month – no more winter surprises!
