Are you tired of forgetting to pay your water bill and getting those annoying late fees? I’ve been there too! As a resident in the Cucamonga Valley area, I’ve learned all the ins and outs of paying my CVWD bill efficiently. Today, I’m sharing everything you need to know about Cucamonga Valley Water District bill payment options so you can choose what works best for your lifestyle.
Online Payment Options: The Most Convenient Way
The Cucamonga Valley Water District offers several convenient ways to pay your bill online through their payment portal, InvoiceCloud. This has been my go-to method for the past few years because it’s so darn easy!
Using the CVWD Payment Portal (InvoiceCloud)
To pay online through the official portal:
- Visit www.cvwdwater.com
- Click on the “Pay My Bill” button
- Login or register for InvoiceCloud
- Select your payment amount
- Enter your payment details
- Review and submit your payment
- Save your confirmation number
What I really love about InvoiceCloud is all the features it offers besides just paying your bill:
- Account Information access anytime
- Statement History to track your usage
- Auto-Pay enrollment or cancellation
- Paperless Billing options
- Pay by Text capabilities
- One-Time Payments when you need them
The payment portal is super intuitive and takes just a few minutes to set up. I found registration to be pretty straightforward – just needed my account number and some basic info.
Payment Methods Accepted Online
CVWD gives you several choices for how to pay through InvoiceCloud:
- Credit/Debit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, and Discover
- eCheck: Using your bank routing and account number
- PayPal: Transfer funds from your PayPal balance
- Auto-pay: Set up recurring payments (my personal favorite!)
- Text Payments: Receive and pay your bill via text
Just keep in mind that some of these payment methods might have a small convenience fee to cover processing costs. The fee will be clearly shown before you submit your payment
Phone Payment Option: Quick and Easy
Sometimes I don’t have time to log in online, and that’s when the pay-by-phone option comes in handy!
To pay your CVWD bill by phone:
- Call 855-654-CVWD (2893)
- Have your account number ready
- Follow the automated prompts
- Use your Visa, Mastercard, or Discover card
- Payment posts instantly to your account
This toll-free number is available 24/7, so you can literally pay at 2 AM in your pajamas if that’s your thing. I’ve used this several times when I was traveling and forgot to schedule a payment before leaving.
Level Billing Plan: For Predictable Budgeting
If you hate surprise bills (who doesn’t?), CVWD offers a Level Billing Plan (LBP) that might be perfect for you. Here’s how it works:
- Split your annual water and sewer charges into 11 equal monthly payments
- Payments are based on your average usage from prior years
- Get an annual settlement statement for any additional charges
- Ability to increase your monthly payment if you know you’re using more water
To qualify for the Level Billing Plan, you must:
- Be a residential customer
- Have an account in good standing (no past due amounts)
- Have had your account open for at least one year
I’ve considered switching to this plan because my summer bills are always way higher than winter, and budgeting would be easier with consistent payment amounts
Paperless Billing: Go Green & Save Time
Paperless billing has been a game-changer for me! CVWD’s paperless billing service lets you:
- Receive your bill directly via email
- Avoid mail delays (no more “it got lost in the mail” excuses!)
- Reduce paper waste (yay environment!)
- Easily archive digital statements
To sign up for paperless billing
- Contact Customer Service at 855-654-CVWD (2893), OR
- Log in to your InvoiceCloud account and change your preferences
When I signed up, it took about 30 days to activate. You’ll need to provide some verification info like:
- Last four digits of your driver’s license
- Home phone number
- Service address or account number
- Last four digits of your Social Security number
Water Monitor Portal: Track Your Usage
One thing I absolutely LOVE about CVWD is their separate Water Monitor Portal. This isn’t for paying bills, but it’s super helpful for managing water usage!
With the Water Monitor Portal you can:
- Track exactly how much water you’re using
- Set up high usage alerts (this saved me when I had a leak!)
- View your usage patterns through an intuitive dashboard
Important Note: This requires a separate login from the payment portal, so you’ll need to register separately at the CVWD website.
Avoiding Late Fees With Smart Payment Strategies
Nobody likes late fees, am I right? Here are some strategies I’ve used to make sure my CVWD bill always gets paid on time:
- Auto-pay: Set it and forget it! Payments are automatically withdrawn.
- Text/Email Alerts: Get notified when your bill is ready.
- Pay A Few Days Early: Don’t cut it close to the deadline.
- Save The Portal In Your Favorites: Quick access when needed.
Since switching to auto-pay, I haven’t paid a single late fee in over two years. It’s been worth it for my peace of mind alone!
Customer Service Support
If you ever have questions about your bill or payment options, CVWD’s customer service team is actually pretty helpful. I’ve had to call them a couple times when I moved, and they were really nice.
Contact options include:
- Phone: 855-654-CVWD (2893)
- Email: Document submittal email available on their website
- In Person: 10440 Ashford St., Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730
Their office hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. They’re closed on Fridays, so plan accordingly!
Security of Online Payments
I was initially worried about paying bills online, but CVWD takes security seriously. Their InvoiceCloud portal uses:
- Encryption technology
- Tokenization of payment data
- PCI-compliant systems
- Industry-standard security protocols
Only authorized CVWD employees can access your information, and they follow strict privacy protocols. I’ve been paying online for years without any issues.
