Are you tired of dealing with paper bills and making phone calls to pay your medical expenses? If you’re a patient at Duly Health and Care (formerly known as DuPage Medical Group), I’ve got good news for you! Their online bill pay system makes managing your medical finances incredibly simple and convenient
As someone who’s navigated the healthcare billing maze for years I can tell you that Duly’s online payment options are a game-changer. In this guide, I’ll walk you through everything you need to know about using their digital payment system to stay on top of your medical bills.
What Happened to DuPage Medical Group?
First things first – if you’re confused about the name change, DuPage Medical Group became Duly Health and Care on September 15, 2021. The name “Duly” comes from the Latin word for “two,” representing the partnership between patient and caregiver. Despite the rebrand, their commitment to quality care and convenient services remains unchanged.

Let’s explore the online payment option in detail since it’s the easiest way to manage your bills.
Paying Your Bill Online Through MyChart
MyChart is Duly Health and Care’s patient portal that gives you 24/7 access to your health information, including your billing statements. Here’s how to use it:
1. Access MyChart
Visit mychart.dupagemedicalgroup.com or download the Duly Health and Care app on your smartphone or tablet.
2. Log In or Pay as Guest
You have two options:
- Log in with your MyChart credentials (recommended for full access to your billing history)
- Pay as a guest without creating an account (you’ll need your invoice number and billing account number from your statement)
3. View Your Balance
Once logged in, you’ll see your current account balance displayed prominently. Click “See Details” to view all recent billing activity and charges before making your payment.
4. Select Payment Amount
Choose whether to:
- Pay your balance in full
- Make a partial payment
- Set up a payment plan (if you can’t pay the full amount at once)
5. Enter Payment Information
Select your preferred payment method:
- Credit/debit card
- Bank account (for electronic payments)
If you’re logged into MyChart, you can save your payment method for future transactions – super convenient!
6. Confirm and Submit
Double-check all the payment details before submitting. Once confirmed, you’ll receive a confirmation screen with a receipt number and payment details for your records. An email receipt will also be sent to you.
That’s it! Your payment will be applied to your account balance immediately.
Setting Up Paperless Billing
As of August 15, 2024, Duly Health and Care moved to paperless billing statements. This means you can receive bill notifications through:
- Text messages
- MyChart app notifications
If you prefer paper statements, you can opt out of paperless billing by logging into your MyChart account, visiting the “Billing Summary” section, and disabling the Paperless Preferences.
Payment Plan Options
Can’t pay your bill in full? No worries! Duly offers flexible payment plans that allow you to break down your balance into manageable monthly installments.
To set up a payment plan through MyChart:
- Access bill pay and review your account balance
- Click “Set up a payment plan”
- Select your desired monthly payment amount (minimum $50)
- Provide payment details for automatic monthly charges
- Accept the payment plan terms
Payment plans can extend up to 12 months with no interest. All plans require a credit, debit, or HSA/FSA card on file for automatic monthly payments and a one-month down payment.
Financial Assistance Programs
If you’re experiencing financial hardship, Duly offers a one-time Financial Hardship Program for qualifying patients. To learn more about financial assistance options, contact their Billing Customer Service Department at (866) 734-7680.
Saving Payment Methods for Future Use
One of my favorite features of MyChart bill pay is the ability to save payment methods for future transactions. This saves time and eliminates the need to enter your card or bank information every time.
To save a payment method:
- Pay your bill with the account details you want to store
- Check the box to save the account for future payments
- The account will be stored in your MyChart wallet securely (only the last 4 digits will be visible)
You can remove stored accounts anytime through your MyChart wallet settings.
Understanding Your Bill
Sometimes medical bills can be confusing. Here’s what you need to know about Duly’s billing process:
- Billing Statements: Issued monthly for outstanding balances after insurance has processed your claim
- Payment Reminders: Sent 3 days before scheduled payments for patients enrolled in Auto Pay or Payment Plans
- Overdue Notices: If a balance remains unpaid after 30 days, reminder notices will appear on your next statement
Billing Estimates
Duly Health and Care now provides estimates for most services. Their care teams can provide you with an estimate for scheduled services, tests, or procedures based on your insurance coverage. This helps you plan for expected costs before receiving care.
Missed Appointment Policy
Be aware that starting July 1, 2024, Duly may charge a $50 missed appointment fee for clinic appointments or a $125 missed procedure fee for procedures if you don’t cancel at least 24 hours in advance.

Frequently Asked Questions about Payment
As part of our updated patient financial agreement, payment is due at the time that services are provided. We ask that patients provide and verify their insurance information and address each time they check in, whether in person or electronically. This allows us to verify your insurance in real time to determine your patient responsibility portion of the bill for services or treatment.
Why do I have to make payment when I visit the doctor? In the past I was able to wait until I received the bill.
As part of our new Patient Financial Agreement, we are asking patients to make payments at the time that they are receiving care and services. With current insurance information on file for each patient, we are able to see accurate billing estimates and patient responsibility for each visit.
