Are you scratching your head trying to figure out how to pay your Labcorp bill online? Don’t worry, I’ve been there too! After having several lab tests done last month, I was confused about the billing process until I discovered the convenience of Labcorp’s online payment system. Let me share everything I’ve learned to make your experience smoother than mine was.
What Is Labcorp Online Bill Pay?
Labcorp online bill pay is a convenient service that allows patients to pay their laboratory testing bills through Labcorp’s website. This service is available 24/7 making it easy to manage your healthcare expenses whenever it fits your schedule.
The system was designed to simplify the payment process, eliminating the need to mail checks or make phone calls during business hours. As of November 2025 Labcorp continues to enhance this service to improve patient experience.
Why Use Labcorp’s Online Payment System?
Before diving into the “how” let’s talk about why online bill pay is such a game-changer
- 24/7 Availability: Pay your bill anytime, day or night
- Multiple Payment Options: Credit cards, PayPal, Google Pay and Apple Pay
- Immediate Confirmation: Get email receipts instantly
- Time-Saving: No need to write checks or visit a location
- Account Management: Track your payment history easily
One thing I really appreciate is not having to remember to mail a check before the due date. I can literally pay while watching TV at night!
How to Pay Your Labcorp Bill Online
Let’s break down the process into simple steps:
Step 1: Find Your Bill Information
First, you’ll need to locate your 8-digit invoice number from your Labcorp bill. This is super important – without it, you can’t process your payment online.
If you’re looking at your bill and feel confused (I certainly was!), Labcorp uses two bill formats. You can view sample bills on their website to help locate the invoice/account number on your particular bill format.
Step 2: Access the Payment Portal
You have two main options to access Labcorp’s payment system:
- Visit the Labcorp Patient Portal and log in to your account
- Go directly to the Bill Pay section of the Labcorp website
If you’re a returning user, logging into your patient portal gives you access to your billing history and test results too. For first-time users, you might need to create an account, which takes just a few minutes.
Step 3: Enter Your Information
Once you’re on the payment page:
- Enter your 8-digit invoice number exactly as it appears on your bill
- Provide the payment amount
- Choose your payment method (credit card, HSA card, PayPal, Google Pay or Apple Pay)
- Enter your payment details
- Provide your email address for the receipt
Be super careful when entering your invoice number. If you get an “Invoice Not Found” error message, double-check the number and try again. If problems persist, you’ll need to call Labcorp Patient Billing at 800-845-6167.
Step 4: Submit Payment and Keep Your Receipt
After reviewing your information, submit your payment. You’ll receive a confirmation email with your payment receipt at the email address you provided. Keep this for your records!
Labcorp typically posts payments within 24-48 hours, so don’t panic if your balance doesn’t immediately reflect your payment.
Former RML Customers Take Note
If you were previously a Regional Medical Laboratory (RML) customer, here’s something important to know: Effective October 1, 2025, rmlonline.com is no longer available. All clients should now use Labcorp’s webpage to access LabWorks, the test directory, and online bill pay options.
Labcorp purchased select assets of Ascension’s outreach laboratory business, including RML in Tulsa, Oklahoma. For billing questions related to former RML services, you can contact their specialized billing office at 918-744-2164, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Setting Up Payment Plans Through Labcorp
What if you can’t pay the full amount at once? I’ve been there, and thankfully, Labcorp offers payment plans!
To qualify for a payment plan:
- Your total balance must be $50 or more
- The plans are interest-free (which I think is amazing)
You can set up a payment plan in two ways:
- Online: Sign in to your Labcorp Patient account, select all bills you want to include, and click “Create a Payment Plan”
- By Phone: Call 800-845-6167 and speak with a representative
I recommend the online option for speed, but phone support can be helpful if you have specific questions about your plan options.
What If I Don’t Have Health Insurance?
If you’re uninsured, Labcorp offers the LabAccess Partnership (LAP) program with discounted fees for routine clinical tests. To participate:
- Present your test request paperwork at a Labcorp patient service center
- Pay the discounted fees in full at the time of service
Additionally, Labcorp offers financial hardship programs for those who truly need assistance:
- Patient-specific payment plans
- Special payment plans for financial hardship
- Indigent request from physician/facility
Common Online Bill Pay Issues and Solutions
Problem: “Invoice Not Found” Error
Solution: Double-check your 8-digit invoice number and enter it exactly as shown on your bill. If the issue persists, call Labcorp Patient Billing.
Problem: Balance Shows Same Amount After Payment
Solution: Payments take 24-48 hours to post. If your balance hasn’t updated after two days, contact patient billing.
Problem: Unsure If Insurance Has Paid
Solution: Check your bill carefully for line-item adjustments indicating insurance payments. If uncertain, contact your insurance company or Labcorp billing.
Alternative Payment Methods
While online payment is convenient, Labcorp accepts several other payment methods:
- Phone: Call the automated system at 800-845-6167 (available 24/7)
- Mail: Send payment to the address on your bill (remember to include your bill stub)
- In Person: Pay at any Labcorp patient service center
For payments by mail, I always recommend including your 8-digit invoice number on your check and allowing sufficient time for postal delivery and processing.
The Sign & Go Preauthorized Credit Card Option
Labcorp also offers a “Sign & Go” option where you can preauthorize your credit card or HSA card when you check into a Labcorp location. This is super handy because:
- It eliminates the need to pay separately later
- Your card is charged only after your insurance processes the claim
- Card information is securely protected and destroyed after processing
I personally love this option because it’s one less bill to remember!
Understanding Your Insurance and Labcorp Billing
Insurance billing can be confusing, so here are some key points to understand:
- Labcorp files claims directly to Medicare, Medicaid, and many insurance companies
- Allow 4-6 weeks for your insurance company to process claims
- Diagnosis codes come from your ordering physician (not Labcorp)
- If you have multiple insurance plans, claims are processed by your primary insurer first
If you receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurance that doesn’t match your Labcorp bill, you should fax a copy to 866-227-2939 or mail it to:
Labcorp
PO Box 2240
Burlington, NC 27216-2240
