Guess What? You Have Options for Your Water Bill!
Hey there, fellow Rainier View water customer! If your like me, you’ve probably got a water bill sitting on your counter right now, and you’re wondering, “What’s the best way to pay this thing?” Well, I’ve been a East Pierce customer (formerly Rainier View Water) for years, and I’ve tried literally every payment method they offer. Today I’m gonna share all my knowledge so you can choose the method that works for your life.
Washington Water Service now manages what used to be Rainier View Water, and they’ve made some big improvements to their bill payment systems Whether you prefer paying online, through an app, or the old-fashioned way, I’ve got you covered!
Quick History: Rainier View Water is Now Part of Washington Water Service
First things first – if you’re still looking for “Rainier View Water” bill pay you should know that Rainier View is now part of Washington Water Service. They specifically mention East Pierce customers (formerly Rainier View Water) on their website so don’t worry – you’re still in the right place!
The transition happened a while back, but the services have only gotten better. This is good news because it means more payment options and better customer service for us.
Online Bill Payment Options: Xpress Bill Pay Makes It Easy!
Washington Water Service partners with Xpress Bill Pay for online payments and it’s honestly been a game-changer for me. Here’s how it works
Using Xpress Bill Pay (My Favorite Method)
- Go to Xpress Bill Pay (https://www.xpressbillpay.com/)
- You have three options:
- Create an account – This is what I did, and it’s super useful for recurring payments
- Login if you already have an account
- Checkout as guest – Perfect if you just want to make a one-time payment without creating an account
The best part about Xpress Bill Pay is that it’s:
- Available 24-7 from any device
- Authorized by Washington Water Service
- Secure (they take security seriously!)
- Capable of setting up automatic payments so you’re never late
I personally love the automatic payment feature. I set it up once and haven’t thought about my water bill due date since!
Phone Payment Options for Rainier View/East Pierce Customers
Not everyone wants to pay online, and that’s totally fine! Washington Water Service offers dedicated phone lines for East Pierce customers:
- Local number: (253) 537-6634
- Toll-free number: (888) 490-3741
For all other Washington Water customers, they offer:
- 24-hour toll-free service: (877) 408-4060
I’ve called these numbers a few times when I had questions about my bill, and the customer service reps were super helpful. They can walk you through payment options over the phone.
Mail-In Payments: The Traditional Route
If your like my mom who still prefers to write checks (bless her heart), you can still mail in your payment! The payment address should be right on your bill.
Just remember to:
- Include your account number on your check
- Allow enough time for mail delivery
- Keep your receipt or canceled check as proof of payment
What If You’re Struggling to Pay Your Water Bill?
We’ve all been there – sometimes bills pile up, and things get tight. Washington Water Service actually offers something called “PromisePay” for customers who need assistance.
Their website specifically mentions: “Difficulty with Your Bill? Check out the available assistance, including PromisePay.”
WARNING: There’s currently a scam going around related to PromisePay phone calls (mentioned in their alerts from October 7, 2025). So always contact Washington Water directly using their official numbers if you need assistance.
Customer Support Hours
If you have questions about your Rainier View (now East Pierce) water bill, Xpress Bill Pay offers customer support:
- Weekdays from 6am – 6pm (Mountain Time)
- Email support available anytime
Washington Water also has extensive customer service options through their contact channels.
Setting Up Automatic Payments: Never Forget Again!
This has been my personal lifesaver. With Xpress Bill Pay, you can set up automatic payments so you never have to worry about late fees again.
Here’s how I did it:
- Created my Xpress Bill Pay account
- Added my Washington Water account information
- Set up my payment method (credit card or bank account)
- Selected the automatic payment option
- Chose whether I wanted to be notified before payments process
Now I get an email a few days before the payment goes through, just as a heads-up, but I never have to manually pay the bill.
Mobile App Payment Options
If you’re glued to your phone like I am, you’ll be happy to know Xpress Bill Pay has a mobile app! Their website mentions “GET — On the App Store,” so you can download it and pay your water bill from anywhere.
The app gives you all the same features as the website:
- View current and past bills
- Make one-time payments
- Set up automatic payments
- Get payment reminders
Is Xpress Bill Pay Secure?
I was concerned about this at first too, but rest assured – Xpress Bill Pay takes security very seriously. They have a dedicated “Security” section on their website, and they work directly with Washington Water Service.
They’re trusted by cities, governments, and businesses across the country to handle sensitive payment information. I’ve been using them for years without any issues.
What If You Just Moved to the Area?
If you’re new to the Rainier View/East Pierce area, you’ll need to start water service. Washington Water makes this easy with their “Start/Stop Service” option on their website.
You’ll want to set this up as soon as possible so you can establish your account and start receiving (and paying) bills properly.
Understanding Your Water Bill
Sometimes the hardest part isn’t paying the bill – it’s understanding it! Washington Water Service offers resources for customers dealing with:
- High bills
- Rate information
- General billing FAQs
If your bill seems unusually high, check out their “Look for Leaks” section under Conservation. A small leak can lead to a surprisingly large bill, and I’ve been there!
Other Services Washington Water Offers
While we’re focused on bill payment here, it’s worth mentioning that Washington Water Service offers a bunch of other services that might be useful:
- Conservation resources and rebates
- Water quality reports
- Emergency preparedness information
- Community programs
My Personal Experience with Rainier View/Washington Water Service
I’ve been a customer since before the transition from Rainier View to Washington Water, and I’ve gotta say, the billing system has improved a lot. The Xpress Bill Pay integration makes everything so much easier.
Last winter, I had an unexpected high bill due to a leak I didn’t know about. When I called their customer service, they were super helpful in explaining the bill and even guided me through checking for common household leaks. Turns out my toilet was the culprit!
Final Thoughts on Paying Your Rainier View Water Bill
At the end of the day, Washington Water Service gives you plenty of options for paying your bill. Whether you prefer the convenience of online payments, the personal touch of phone payments, or the reliability of mail, they’ve got you covered.
My recommendation? Set up that Xpress Bill Pay account and automatic payments. It’s been the best decision for me – no more late fees, no more forgetting, and no more stressing about due dates.
But whichever method you choose, just make sure you’re using the official channels – especially with those scams going around!
