Hey there, fellow Raleigh County residents! If your anything like me, paying your water bill isn’t exactly the highlight of your month But it’s one of those adult responsibilities we just gotta deal with, right? I’ve been a customer of Raleigh County Public Service District for years now, and I thought I’d share everything I’ve learned about their bill payment options to make your life a little easier
Why I Wrote This Guide
Look, nobody really enjoys paying bills, but understanding your options can save you time, avoid late fees, and maybe even help you avoid that dreaded service disconnection notice. As someone who’s tried literally every payment method Raleigh County PSD offers (yes, even standing in line at the office with cash!), I wanted to create a comprehensive guide that covers it all.
What is Raleigh County PSD?
For those who might be new to the area Raleigh County Public Service District (PSD) is responsible for providing water services to residents throughout Raleigh County. They handle everything from water supply to billing and infrastructure maintenance.
Payment Options: Choose What Works Best for You
Raleigh County PSD offers several convenient ways to pay your bill Let’s break down each option
1. Online Payment
This is honestly my preferred method because I can do it from my couch while binge-watching my favorite shows. The PSD has made online payments pretty straightforward:
- Visit the official website: https://raleighcountypsd.com/make-a-payment/
- Click the “Make Online Payment” button
- You’ll need to register an account first if you haven’t already
- Follow the prompts to complete your payment using a credit or debit card
Important Note: They specifically mention on their website to “not use the Point N Pay system any longer to make payments.” This is super important – I actually made this mistake once and my payment didn’t get processed correctly!
2. In-Office Payment
If your the type who prefers handling transactions in person, you can always visit the Raleigh County PSD office. Here’s what you should know:
- Payment methods accepted: cash, check, or money order
- No credit cards accepted in the office (I learned this the hard way!)
- You might encounter wait times during peak hours or around due dates
- But you do get that immediate confirmation that your payment was received
3. Mail-In Payment
For those who prefer the traditional route:
- Send your check or money order (no cash!) through regular mail
- Make sure to allow enough time for delivery before your due date
- Include your account number on your payment
- This method is great if you like having a paper trail for your records
4. Phone Payment
Need to pay quickly but can’t get online or to the office? Phone payments are an option:
- Call 304.683.4090 and select Option 1
- Have your credit/debit card ready
- You’ll also need your account number handy
- This is perfect for last-minute payments when your getting close to the deadline
Setting Up Your Online Account
I remember being a bit confused when I first tried to pay online, so let me walk you through the process:
- Visit the Raleigh County PSD website: https://raleighcountypsd.com/make-a-payment/
- Click on “Register Online”
- You’ll need:
- Your account number (found on your bill)
- A valid email address
- Basic personal information
- Create a secure password
- Once registered, you can log in anytime to:
- View your bill
- Make payments
- See payment history
- Update your contact information
Understanding Your Bill
Okay, so we’ve talked about HOW to pay, but let’s take a minute to understand WHAT you’re paying for. Typical Raleigh County PSD bills include:
- Base service charge: This is the fixed amount you pay regardless of usage
- Usage charges: Based on how much water you’ve used (measured in gallons)
- Any applicable fees or adjustments
- Previous balance information
- Due date (super important!)
Tips to Avoid Late Payments
We’ve all been there – life gets busy and suddenly you realize your water bill is overdue. Here are some tricks I use to stay on top of my payments:
- Set a calendar reminder a few days before the due date
- Sign up for email alerts through the Raleigh County PSD website
- Consider setting up automatic payments if that’s an option for you
- Keep your account info in a secure but accessible place so you can pay quickly when needed
What Happens If You Miss a Payment?
Let’s be honest – sometimes we forget or money gets tight. If you miss a payment:
- Late fees will likely be added to your account
- If you go too long without paying, you risk having your service disconnected
- Reconnection typically requires payment of the past-due amount plus additional fees
- Your better off contacting the PSD office directly if you’re having payment difficulties
Planned Outages and System Updates
One thing I’ve noticed on the Raleigh County PSD website is that they do post information about planned outages. It’s worth checking their site regularly for system updates that might affect your service. There’s actually a notice right now about a planned outage – you can click on their homepage banner for more information.

While we’re mainly focusing on bill payment, it’s worth mentioning that the Raleigh County PSD website offers information about other services:
