South Feather Water and Power accepts a variety of payment methods through their Paymentus portal:
- Credit Cards
- Debit Cards
- e-Check (electronic check)

- PayPal
- PayPal Credit
This variety gives you plenty of options to choose the payment method that works best for your situation. Personally, I prefer using e-Check since there’s usually no processing fee, but your preference might differ.
24-Hour Automated Payment System
Can’t access the internet? No problem! South Feather Water and Power also offers a 24-hour automated payment system through Paymentus that can be reached at (866) 335-0486. This is super helpful when you need to make a last-minute payment outside of normal business hours

If you prefer the traditional approach of paying your bills in person, you can visit the South Feather Water and Power Agency office during their regular business hours:
- Monday-Thursday: 8am to 4:30pm
- Friday: 8am to 3:30pm
Their office is located at 2310 Oro Quincy HighwayOroville, CA 95966
Important Notes About Disconnected Service
If your water service has been disconnected due to non-payment, there are some important things to know:
- All online payments made via Paymentus to restore disconnected service MUST be followed up with a phone call to SFWPA’s main office at (530) 533-4578
- If payment and/or communication is received after 3:30pm, an after-hours charge of $150 will apply
I learned this the hard way last summer when my neighbor forgot to call after making an online payment. She had to wait until the next day for service restoration!
Setting Up Automatic Payments
One of the best features of the Paymentus portal is the ability to set up automatic payments. Here’s why I think it’s worth considering:
- Never worry about missing a payment
- Avoid late fees and potential service disconnection
- Simplify your monthly bill management
- Receive email confirmations of payments
To set up autopay, you’ll need to create an account through the Paymentus portal and provide your payment information. It took me less than 5 minutes to set up, and I haven’t had to think about my water bill since!
Why Paymentus is Important
South Feather Water and Power specifically notes that “Paymentus is the only recognized online payment option tracked by South Feather Water and Power to avoid disconnect fees.” This means if you’re using any other payment method or service to pay your bill, it might not be properly credited to your account in time to prevent disconnection.
Dealing With Leaks and High Bills
Sometimes you might notice your water bill is unusually high. This could be due to a leak in your system. South Feather Water and Power provides resources for dealing with leaks under their “Dealing With Leaks” section on their website.
If you suspect a leak, it’s best to address it quickly to avoid wasting water and money. We had a small leak in our irrigation system last year that almost doubled our water bill before we caught it!
Water Service Area and Current Rates
To understand your bill better, it’s helpful to know about:
- Your specific water service area
- Current water rates
Both these pieces of information can be found on the South Feather Water and Power website under the “Customer Service” section.

- Agency News
- Irrigation Outages
- Potable Water Outages

This has been really useful for me, especially during summer when we occasionally have planned outages for system maintenance.
Beyond Bill Pay: Other Services
While this article focuses on bill payment, it’s worth noting that South Feather Water and Power provides several other important services:
- Start/Stop Service requests
- Irrigation water service
- Information about water quality
- Recreation opportunities at their reservoirs
Comparing to Other Utility Payment Systems
As someone who’s lived in different places, I’ve dealt with various utility payment systems. South Feather’s partnership with Paymentus is actually quite user-friendly compared to some others I’ve encountered.
For example, cities like Buffalo, NY also offer online payment options for water bills and other city services, but they typically have separate payment portals for different types of bills, which can be confusing to navigate.
Final Thoughts
Paying your South Feather Water and Power bill doesn’t have to be a hassle. With multiple payment options available, you can choose the method that works best for your lifestyle.
I’ve found that setting up automatic payments through the Paymentus portal is the most convenient option, but it’s nice to know there are alternatives if needed.
Remember these key points:
- Online payments must be made through the official Paymentus portal
- If restoring disconnected service, always follow up with a phone call
- Consider setting up automatic payments to avoid late fees
- Contact customer service if you have any questions or concerns
Have you tried all these payment options? Which one works best for you? I’d love to hear about your experiences with South Feather Water and Power’s bill pay system!
