Post date |

Gastonia-Scurry Special Utility District offers a wide variety of convenient payment options for our customers. Simply choose the option that best suits your needs.

Are you looking for ways to pay your Two Rivers Utilities bill in Gastonia? You’re not alone! As a resident of Gastonia I’ve had to navigate the different payment options myself and I’m happy to share what I’ve learned. Two Rivers Utilities offers several convenient methods to pay your monthly utility bills, and I’ll break down each option so you can choose what works best for you.

No-Cost Payment Options

Automatic Bank Draft – The Hassle-Free Choice

This is honestly my favorite option. With automatic bank draft:

  • Your bill gets paid automatically from your bank account
  • No more writing checks each month
  • No postage costs
  • No worries about late fees or disconnection
  • You’ll still receive a monthly statement showing charges
  • The amount will be drafted approximately 14 days after your bill date

Setting up automatic bank draft is super easy and completely free You can enroll by visiting the City of Gastonia website and completing the secure form that gets submitted directly to Utility Customer Service

Payment by Mail

The classic option! When you receive your monthly bill it comes with a blue window envelope. Here’s what to do

  1. Tear off the lower bill stub portion
  2. Include it with your check or money order
  3. Make sure the return address shows through the window
  4. Include your account number on your payment

Lost your envelope? No problem. Mail your payment to:

City of GastoniaPO Box 580068Charlotte NC 28258-0068

24-Hour Dropbox Locations

For those of us who like to drop off payments in person but don’t want to wait in line, there are convenient 24-hour dropboxes:

  • Behind the Garland Business Center on York Street
  • Outside Cramerton Town Hall

Important tips for dropbox payments:

  • Use check or money order only (no cash!)
  • Include the payment remittance portion of your bill
  • Make sure your name, address, and account number are on the payment
  • Check the posted cut-off times for same-day processing

Payment Kiosks – Cash Option

Need to pay with cash? Two Rivers Utilities has five automated payment kiosks around Gastonia. These work similar to ATMs and are super convenient. You’ll need your 8-digit account number and address information.

Kiosk locations:

  • Food Lion – 2601 S. New Hope Rd (7:00 am – 11:00 pm)
  • Food Lion – 1024 W. Hudson Blvd (7:00 am – 10:00 pm)

Why I Prefer Online Bill Pay

I personally switched to online payments for my Two Rivers utilities a few years back, and it’s been a game-changer. No more scrambling to find stamps or drop off payments before due dates! The convenience fee is worth it for me, but if you’re trying to avoid fees completely, the automatic bank draft is definitely your best bet.

The online portal also gives me a good visual of my usage patterns, which has actually helped me reduce my utility bills over time. I can see when my water or electric usage spikes and make adjustments accordingly.
